Seeing a sign…

Sometimes, walking through Birmingham city centre with all the cranes and building works makes me feel a bit lost in my own home town. The city feels like a river and trying to grasp a connection to it is impossible.

But walking passed these signs felt like they got it. Hot of the presses of the Birmingham Design Festival, rather than another faceless board promising yet more newness, the shop proudly depicted the city in which it belong through graphics of some of the city’s more iconic buildings – the Library of Birmingham, Mailbox, Selfridges, BT Tower, the Town Hall, ICC and Millennium Point, but also the canals, the metro and countryside.
